ZEST WEG DELIVERS ITS BIGGEST MOBILE SUBSTATION YET

Leveraging its considerable in-house expertise and local manufacturing capability, Zest WEG has custom designed and manufactured a mobile substation solution for the utility of Guinea – its biggest such mobile unit yet manufactured in South Africa. The innovative 50 MVA substation, with a dual voltage of 110-60/30-20 kV, will perform a range of duties for the Utility Company of Guinea, called Electricité De Guinée, including providing emergency and standby power.

ZEST WEG IS KEY SUPPLIER OF MOTORS AND VSDS FOR KAMOA-KAKULA

Now one of the world’s highest-grade copper mines, Kamoa-Kakula in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is installing a wide range of WEG motors and variable speed drives (VSDs) for the second phase of its development. Zest WEG has already delivered on a similar scope for the mine’s first phase, which produced its first copper concentrate on 25 May 2021.
